Encourage hosts several events throughout the year as we work to connect our existing foster and foster-to-adopt families with the resources and support they need while also seeking out new families to add to our network. These include foster parent prep courses (formerly called pre-service trainings) for new families, monthly First Friday events, ongoing child-specific training and more. Check back here often for new events!
Foster Parent Training
Our foster parent training or prep courses are offered several times each year with a focus on Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI). Please click here to see dates and location for our next training.
First Friday Events
Encourage offers free monthly events to provide information and advice to foster parents from all agencies in the area. Foster parents will receive three hours of on-going training hours for their foster care license. If you have any questions, please contact Jocelyn Kauffman at 419-631-1928 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Free child care is available for Encourage foster families only. Dinner and training are free for all participants.
These trainings are also offered through Facebook Live. To receive training credits, foster parents must watch the entire session and fill out an evaluation form.
