Encourage hosts several events throughout the year as we work to connect our existing foster and adoptive families with the resources and support they need while also seeking out new families to add to our network. These include quarterly pre-service trainings for new families, monthly First Friday events, ongoing child-specific training and more. Check back here often for new events!

You Can Foster Too Info Session

Can I foster as a single parent? Can I foster if I don’t own my home? What if we have pets? What if we don’t live in Wayne County? Many questions come up when you consider becoming a foster parent. Our Encourage team is here to walk beside you through this process and help you feel empowered. Yes, you can foster too.

We invite you to learn more about foster care with Encourage from our staff and seasoned foster parents. You’ll find out their fears and their faith in opening up their hearts and homes to youth in need of safety and security. This informal event is a great opportunity to engage in authentic conversation with those ahead of you in the fostering journey.

6:30-8pm, Wayne County Public Library
Reservations required as dinner is provided by Spoon Market & Deli for this special session.
